When things finally stop pressing you.

I've been thinking...

About what it feels like when something finally stops pressing on you. Not resolution - resolution is too clean. This is more like the moment just before that. When things are still in motion, but moving toward rest.

The Quieting came out of that feeling. The palette is soft: blush, warm cream, a whisper of blue, and most of the canvas simply holds still. There's one place near the center where the energy collects, where marks layer and the color gets a little warmer. But even that isn't urgent. It's winding down.

I think of it as a companion to The Loosening. Where that painting was about release, this one is about what comes after, the hush that follows.

This work is available at $2,800. Feel free to message me for additional photos, details, or questions about the painting.
